The content of sessions may not be discussed with others without the patient’s explicit consent unless the patient represents an acute danger to themselves or others. In this case, we may need to involve other services.

We specialize in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). CBT has been shown to be effective in numerous studies across psychiatric disorders and age groups. The treatment is based on the observation that our experiences shape our thinking, feeling and behaviour. However, these learned patterns might be dysfunctional and lead to suffering. We first work to understand how the current problems have arisen and why they persist. Then patients are taught skills to implement more helpful patterns of thinking and responding, and are encouraged to practice these skills outside of the session.

Unfortunately, we cannot give general estimates. You may inquire about current wait times during our office hours on Wednesday 10 – 11 am (0761/203-54014).

As the Psychotherapy Centre does not have psychiatrists on staff, we cannot prescribe medication or provide medication management. We can, however, refer you to a psychiatrist or collaborate with your current psychiatrist if you are seeking supplementary treatment.

Most of our therapies are offered in German. However, we can also offer therapy in English, French or Italian. It is also possible to request the services of an interpreter. We will discuss this on a case-by-case basis.
